High Tide proposes uniform battery charger labeling

Food industry manufacturers are required to attach uniform labels that disclose their product's nutritional contents (calories & servings/container). The energy-harvesting charger manufacturers should be forced to do the same. Phrases like "only 5 minutes charging gives 60 minutes talk time" should be banned - they're completely devoid of accurate, measureable performance information. Really slimey.

What is needed is an easy-to-understand label that gets to the important facts: 1) How much energy do you hold? 2) How long does it take to gather that energy? And the amount of energy you hold should be reported compared to a full smartphone battery charge - five watt-hours. And the labels should all be formatted the same so consumers can easily compare one product to another.

Here's our BOS battery's "Powerful Facts" label.
